Notes
It includes bug fixes as a result of user feedback from DataDefractor 1.0.
Bug Fixes:
The following list of issues was fixed in DataDefractor 1.0 SR-1:
- Product activation via email was missing Machine ID in the physical footprint. This resulted in inability to activate DataDefractor over email. This did not affect users who managed to activate DataDefractor directly over the Internet.
- License activation was case sensitive. For example, if the user logs into Windows as John and activates DataDefractor and logs out and logs back in as john, a message will pop up stating the license is invalid or missing. In Windows’ Event Viewer, you will see, License is null. The maximum number of activations of this key has been reached.
- DataDefractor was unable to run on a machine without SQL Server 2005 client being installed first. This resulted in inability to execute DataDefractor driven SSIS packages via DTExec.exe in a SQL Server-only environment.
- The DataDefractor installation would occasionally fail if DataDefractor Beta 1 samples were previously installed on the machine.
- DataDefractor was unable to read Excel 97-2003 file format files, which did not stick to the Excel BIFF file format standard. DataDefractor 1.0 SR-1 is more forgiving in case the input file contains format errors.
- DataDefractor 1.0 SR-1 un-installation will not launch the DataDefractor survey page. This will let us implement smoother installation upgrades moving forward.
Backward Compatibility:
DataDefractor 1.0 SR-1 is backwards compatible with SSIS packages built with previous releases of the product.
